Magdalena Hamya
Senior Vice President of People and Operations

Magdalena’s career in hospitality and service industries spans over 25 years and began at one of London’s leading five star hotels, where she took a part time job in its housekeeping department whilst studying at London Guildhall University for a degree in Politics and Modern History. Early in her career, she has worked her way up through operational and leadership roles in a range of premier London hotels, including Mandarin Oriental and One Aldwych, learning the hospitality business from the ground up.

Magdalena realised that her passion for people and developing organizational cultures can be translated into a lifelong career. She joined a 2-year Chartered Institute of Personnel Development professional development course at the University of West London. In 2000, she took on her first Human Resources role at Qualiflyer Group, a Swiss Air owned airline alliance covering 15 airlines and all six continents. Thereafter, Magdalena held senior HR leadership roles in leading global hospitality companies within Europe, the Americas and the Caribbean, managing multimillion dollar budgets and thousands of employees in complex, multi-cultural, multi-sited environments. Her HR career includes experience in an award winning media start up later acquired by Virgin Group, and senior HR leadership roles for Melia Hotels International, where she spent 8 years overseeing EMEA and the Americas regions.

In 2013, Magdalena decided to set out on her own and started B Inspired People Solutions, a boutique HR and Executive Search consultancy company. It was during that time that she became involved in Baha Mar, eventually taking on the role of Vice President of HR and Organizational Development for its multi-billion dollar development. Magdalena’s subsequent work on a variety of projects with the Chairman of More Development has led to her joining the organization in September 2019 as Senior Vice President of People and Operations.
